The students pledge to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University study system

The Deanship of the Preparatory Year has the honor to present all the available services to you because you are approaching one of the most important stages of your age. Therefore, we expect you to achieve great goals for the whole country.  No doubt that you must carry out all your responsibilities at this university stage and strongly abide by all the regulations and rules of this University. We present you this covenant, hoping that you read it very carefully to be familiar with your responsibilities and abide by the included regulations to avoid further punishment in violating any of its articles, terms, or conditions. Firstly, you must attend all lectures and practical classes of each subject according to the schedules provided to you by the Deanship of Registration and Admission. You must avoid absences of classes unless you have an acceptable excuse according to the  Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University regulations that clearly state that the absence percentage shouldn't exceed 25% in each subject or course. Secondly, you must respect all the Deanship of the Preparatory Year employees; whether they are faculty members, administrators, workers, other students, or guests of Deanship, you mustn't insult any of them verbally or physically. Thirdly, you must maintain calmness and complete discipline during tests time and never disturb,  cheat or do anything that might hinder the smooth flowing of the exams. Fourthly, you must save guard your university identity card from being spoiled or lost. You must show it whenever required from you by any university employee, faculty member, or security unit. Fifthly, you need to take care of all the university properties such as the buildings, furniture, computer labs, science laboratories, or other equipment. Sixthly, you must wear the national Saudi costume and maintain your polite behavior while on campus. Non-Saudi students must wear clothes that suit Islamic manners. You must also abide by test regulations and rules stated in this guide.    Seventhly, you must abide by the regulations related to the tests that are included in this guide.   Eighthly, Students must respect University's rules and regulations and deal positively, in a civilized manner with all means of modern technology provided by the University.   Ninthly, Violations that lead to punishment include: Offending the religion, the homeland, or the University by any means.  Cheating in tests. Impersonating another student, whether in tests or attending classes. Parking in the places specified for others, or parking in front of the neighboring buildings gates. Inappropriate appearance, such as wearing tight clothes or clothes that indicate expressions, bothers public feeling and wear necklaces or bracelets. Disobey to the security men's instructions. Showing any form of fanaticism. (tribal, sporty, etc.) Tenthly, every student who violates these instructions exposes himself to punishment. According to disciplinary regulations applied by Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, he would be referred to the disciplinary committee responsible for using the penalty list according to the type of the violating act. The punishments include the following:    Oral or written warning, making the student sign a pledge not to repeat the violation. Sending a warning letter to the student and a copy of it will be kept in his file. Depriving the student temporarily of some of the services, facilities, and participating in activities, trips, etc. Depriving the student of taking a test in one course or more in one term. Canceling a number of the student's tests that don't exceed three courses and consider him as failed in these courses. Suspending the student's study for one term with withholding finical reward. Suspending the student's study for two terms with withholding finical reward. Dismissing the student from the University permanently.

Exam Instructions

  The student must abide by the test instructions specified by the Deanship.

  • The student must know the section number, and the name of the  instructor of the course in which he is being tested.        
  • Any student who does not hold a university ID or national ID and does not wear the national dress is not  allowed to attend the test.
  • Students are not allowed to enter the test after 30 minutes of the start of the test, and they are not allowed to leave before half an hour from the start of the test.
  • Each student must bring his/her own tools, as it is not allowed to exchange stationary and calculators between students
  • It is strictly forbidden to bring mobile phones and smart watches into the examination hall.
  • Writing should be with a blue pen only, except for exams that are marked electronically.
  • Cheating or attempting to commit it places the student under the student's discipline list.
  • An alternative test is given to absent students after the Student Issues Committee approves their excuses in accordance with the rules and regulations.
  • In case of providing any incorrect excuses or documents that puts the student under the Student Disciplinary Regulations.

Study system in the Preparatory Year Deanship

The preparatory Year is a yearly academic system. The student has to successfully pass all the preparatory year courses within two semesters and a summer course - if  there is any - with an average of no less than (2) out of (5) grade points. The results of the student in the preparatory year courses will be included in his/ her accumulative average after being majored.

⦁ It is not allowed to postpone the preparatory year, add or delete courses, or transfer between the tracks of the preparatory year program.It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that there are no errors in his academic schedule, such as: conflict in lecture times, or registration of a course that is required as a prerequisite  that allow the student to enroll a new course . if there are  any errors in the schedule, the student has to visit the Student Affairs unit  in the mentioned dates due  to the university  academic calendar .

⦁ The process of registering the student's schedule is done automatically by the Deanship of Admission and Registration according to the study plan of the academic year program.

⦁ The student will not be assigned to his college unless he successfully passes all the preparatory year courses of his track.

⦁ The student is considered pass in the course if he obtains a grade (60%) of the final grade of the course.
